The National Citizens Party (NCP) will march to all districts of the country throughout July to listen to the stories of the people who participated in the July Uprising. The program has been named ‘July march to build the country’.

This program was announced by the party’s convener Nahid Islam at a press conference at the temporary central office of the NCP in Bangla Motor in the capital on Sunday morning. The press conference was organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the July Uprising.

Announcing the program at the press conference, Nahid Islam said, “To commemorate the uprising of the students and the people, a July march will be held in all districts of the country from July 1 to 30. It has been named “Desh Garte July March”. This march will start on July 1 with a visit to the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayeed. During this time, we will visit the families of the martyrs. We will visit their graves. We will talk to the injured soldiers and the students and people who participated in the uprising. We will listen to their aspirations regarding July. The leaders of the Jatiya Nagorik Party will hold this march together.”

Nahid Islam also said, “We have formed a July march implementation committee. This committee will implement the entire march program. Jatiya Nagorik Party’s northern chief organizer Sarjis Alam has been made the committee convener and joint convener Anik Roy has been made the member secretary. We will inform the details of which route and which district the march will take on social media Facebook.’

In addition, the party’s convener Nahid Islam has also announced that July 16 will be the anti-discrimination Martyr’s Day, August 3 will be the reading of the July declaration and manifesto by the students and the public at Shaheed Minar, and August 5 will be the celebration of the student and public’s liberation day.

Nahid Islam said that the day Abu Sayeed was martyred on July 16 will be observed as the anti-discrimination Martyr’s Day. Prayer mahfils and memorial meetings will be held for the martyrs across the country on that day.

Announcing the reading of the July declaration and manifesto, Nahid Islam said, ‘A statement against fascism was made at Shaheed Minar on August 3. This year, on that day, the students’ July Declaration and Manifesto reading program will be held at Shaheed Minar. Although the government promised to provide the July Declaration, it could not do so. The 30 working days given by the government have already passed. Therefore, the July Declaration and Manifesto reading program will be held on August 3 with the students who are in revolt. After listening to the aspirations and expectations of the people of the whole country during the July Padyatra, we will read the July Declaration and Manifesto in August.
